STUDENTS - Swansea Enterprise Boot Camp 2009

This year, in combination with a new Entrepreneurship module, Swansea University’s School of Business and Economics will be running a residential boot camp for budding entrepreneurs. Students will arrive for afternoon tea at the glorious Gregynog where they will promptly be split into teams and set their first task.

Initially, these tasks will promote team building and leadership skills. After dinner, the programme will not stop for an evening in the bar, as the teams need to prepare hard for the next day’s big event. This may see some team members staying up until the early hours, whereas others will need their rest so they can be on the ball for their 6.30 breakfast meeting!

The second day of boot camp will see the teams battle on through a series of activities and tasks whilst still keeping their eye on the main goal. Students develop their skills, knowledge and understanding of enterprise through interactive sessions that provide greater insight into topics such as competition, idea creation, business planning and marketing.

With the competition finishing late on Saturday night, Sunday is likely to be a much more relaxing time (apart from waiting nervously for the results!). Boot Camp will close after breakfast on Sunday morning and all will head home very tired – but highly motivated!
